To dear Peter......the man who use to run us to the airport, who used to look after our house & mail when we went away, the man who was always so caring about us as neighbours........we will miss you so much.........but today we have learnt so much more about you as we sat & watched your special service via this link. We heard wonderful tributes paid to you. We heard wonderful words in poetry said about you, we also heard a wonderful tribute paid to you from your granddaughter, & finally the tribute only a special wife can pay her friend, her soul mate & her husband of 53 years. All these words are devoted to you & all you have meant to so many people. We have got to know Jean & "the girls" so well over these past few weeks, & it's plain for anyone to see what a wonderful father you have been to them all. We promise to look after Jean for you, to keep her topped up with diet coke any time she calls. To always give her a warm welcome & a big hug any time she needs it. We will take her out with us so she won't feel so alone. And step by step, we will help her through this, to blossom into the new Jean with you always by her side.
With love from Ron & Rosie next door. xxx

Before they turn off all the lights
We won't read you your wrongs or your rights
The time has gone
We’ll tell you goodnight, close the door
Tell you We love you once more
And while you're sleeping, We'll try to make you proud
So daddy, won't you just close your eyes?
Don't be afraid, it's our turn
To chase the monsters away
We folded your clothes on the chair
We hope you sleep well, don't be scared
The time has gone
So here it is
Sleep a lifetime
Yes, and breathe a last word
You can feel our hands on your own
We will be the last ones, so we'll leave a light on
Let there be no darkness in your heart
And while you're sleeping, we’ll try to make you proud
So daddy, won't you just close your eyes?
Don't be afraid, it's our turn
To chase the monsters away
